Absence Policy

Our goal is to make this process as smooth and straightforward as possible. Before submitting a request for permission to take off, please review our Absence Policy to ensure your plans align with the guidelines below.

Academic Responsibility During Absences:

Students are required to make up any classwork, homework, or assessments missed while absent. We strongly encourage students to speak with their teachers in advance of their absence to receive assignments or guidance, ensuring they remain on top of their schoolwork. The Dean of Students is available to support students in completing all missed work and staying on track academically.

Non-recurring Appointments:

  • Email the front office- office@lghschicago.org 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointments. Include the date, time the student will leave and return to school, and the reason for absences.

  • If this is a last minute appointment, call the front office in addition to emailing.

Recurring Appointments:

  • Recurring appointments must be scheduled with the Director of Student Services. The nature of the appointment will be kept confidential. Email: behven@lghschicago.org
